The push to lower the oil tax is going to be heating up in the coming months as the state legislature amps up for the legislative session.  The U.S. Supreme Court decision giving corporation's First Amendment Rights will be used to the corporations advantage.  I don't agree with reducing the oil tax based on; 1. Profit margins the oil companies enjoy.  The oil companies have enjoyed record profits. The last thing the oil companies need is an incentive to make more money, besides alternative energy is in the early phase of booming. If anything, state resouces should be allocated to build renewable energy.  Climate change is real and without ice freezing up in the Bering Sea, our villages are vulnerable.   More oil = greater degree of climate change.  Change behavior, not the environment.
