As I understand the Iceland Geothermal Power Plants use high pressure hot water direct from the underground source to flash vaporize and produce steam. Where the Chena Springs Geothermal Plant near Fairbanks,
Alaska (www.chenahotsprings.com)is using a reverse refrigeration closed loop binary system built by United Technologies Corporation.
