Don, What I like about the arrangement is the simplicity. Have you actually been able to generate 7-12kW with your unit? Gwen

Don, I agree with all of your comments, in particular the issue with technical efficiency versus economic feasibility. The attached paper brief (I also pasted it below) discusses the amount of power you could hypothetically expect to generate from…

Mike - I agree that ORMAT would be an important participant. I think they have made the Mount Spurr site a fairly high priority for their company, and I believe they did some geophysics last summer.

Thanks Robert,
I will respond to your comments via e-mail. We are working with Paul Ivanof and NSEDC on a small vertical axis wind turbine project ...

Norton Sound economic Development Corp (NSEDC) spent 1 milion dollars in Unalakleet on wind generators, after other villages made a fuss they are suppose to make available 1 million in grants to the rest of the Bering Straits villages. Paul Ivanoff (800-385-3190) in NSEDC Unalakleet office has more info. Second bit of info Bering Straits Native Corp, Kawerak inc, NSEDC and Sitnasauk Native Corp have put in a bid to purchase Pilgram Hotsprings.
I was in Fbks during XMas, i grew up 1 mile before Ester, I went to ACEP online google map site, and drove to your office, looked like a residential building (814 Alumni dr) figured u were on vacation.
Anyway I've started a draft outline to pursue grant funding to reduce our oil dependency in Elim, a large part of this well be studying and accessing our hotsprings. We are looking at DOE and/or NSEDC grants. The State of Alaska is a bit to political to consider. If you have time to look over the draft and provide any input this would be great.
