Alternative energy as a source of production for electricity for rural Alaska is very wishful thinking for the majority of locations. Rural Alaska will be tied to diesel for the foreseeable future. So doesn't it make sense to make the diesel plants more efficient. A guaranteed step to increase production efficiency 10% is to use #2-15 fuel during the winter. There will be lots of naysayers who say it can be done, my only arguement that it can be done is that we have been doing in Tanana for 30 years. There is 10% more energy in #2-15 that #1 diesel and #2-15 costs less per gallon.
