Everyone knows about wind turbines. But what about installing turbines underwater in Alaska rivers to make power? Our Feb. 10 Forum features UAA civil engineering professor Tom Ravens, who will talk about Alaska’s hydrokinetic(in-river) power potential and work he and his students did last summer looking at 17 potential sites for turbines on the Yukon and Kuskokwim rivers. Come join the discussion! 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anchorage museum. For more information, call 929-7770, email s.nowers@realaska.org or go to www.REalaska.org
