Event Description

Come hear about Alaska's Stranded Renewables at Renewable Energy Alaska Project's (REAP) Monthly Forum at the Anchorage Museum.
Alaska is blessed with a vast supply of renewable resources, including 90% of the country's estimated tidal potential, 50% of its wave power potential and a large swath of places with world class wind. These resources offer a huge opportunity as a potential source of power for Alaska. But many of these resources are effectively locked away, located in remote areas far from transmission lines and population centers that have high energy demands.
What is the potential of these resources, what make sense to develop, and what is and could be done to tap these potential power sources.

PRESENTERS:
- Brian Hirsch, National Renewable Energy Laboratory

- Jason Meyer, AK Center for Energy & Power
