Alaska is a world leader in the development of wind-diesel technologies with systems now installed in 20 communities across the state, and
several more projects in development. Come hear Katherine Keith from the Alaska
Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) and Ginny Fay from the Institute for Social
and Economic Research (ISER) discuss their recently completed study evaluating
Alaska's wind power systems. What have
the economic benefits been of this wind energy? How have theses systems performed?
And what issues remain for the development of these systems in
Alaska?
